Circle on Cavill will be filled with festive good cheer on Thursday, December 20 as the precinct gets in the spirit of the holiday season with a magical Christmas-themed movie night under the stars. With not one but two Christmas-themed classics lined up for the evening, families and friends are invited to join in the free festivities as Home Alone (PG) screens at 5:30pm and The Holiday (PG) shows from 7pm. The centre will be filled with an air of excitement as the sun sets beyond the Surfers Paradise skyline and guests grab their spot on the grassy expanses beneath the precinct’s big screen television in anticipation for the show to begin. Guests are invited to enjoy some free buttery popcorn, sno cones and fluffy pink fairy floss before grabbing a takeaway dinner from one of Circle on Cavill’s many food outlets before settling down on their picnic rug, blankets and chairs. Once everyone has settled and the lights have dimmed the stars of Home Alone will take to the stage as eight-year-old Kevin protects his home from burglars after he is accidentally left home alone by his family during the Christmas holidays. Once Kevin is reunited with his family, the second movie of the evening, The Holiday will play out following two women played by Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz who swap homes in each other’s countries and each meet a local lad and fall in love. Families are encouraged to bring their children into the Surfers Paradise precinct for a day of fun before retreating to Circle on Cavill for an early dinner before the first screening begins. With so much on offer, families are also encouraged to make the most of the free entertainment and kid-focused activities while enjoying the precinct’s retail offerings, restaurants, cafes and family-friendly attractions that form the Gold Coast’s playground.
